Beryl Bramley

Beryl joined YWAM at Ifield Hall, Crawley, Sussex UK in 1973. She served faithfully through various YWAM ministries until her struggle with cancer ended in 1991.

She was a pioneer, involved in many aspects of ministry, usually very pracitical. Beryl led the team which prepared Holmsted Manor in Sussex for the first YWAM school to be held there in 1976. She continued there as a member of the leadership team, and a "spiritual mother" to many. As the years went by she took on various roles in YWAM, and also worked along side local churches.

One of Beryl’s most significant ministries in YWAM was that of hospitality and catering. She established the hospitality ministry in Highfield Oval – Harpenden, UK between 1986 and 1991. Bramley Hall at the Highfield Oval is fittingly named in her memory. Beryl’s life and ministry among us bore much fruit.

  1. Berryl had lots of energy, a great smile and seemed to anticipate need like all who have that gift of hospitality.

She was truly a part of the foundation of YWAM UK.

  2. I will always remember Beryl. She was the first person to welcome us when we, my wife Francine and my 9 months old son, Matthias, and I arrived at Holmsted Manor in August 1978 to attend the DTS. What a smile, what a welcome. Beryl was such a hospitable person and made us feel welcomed.

  3. Beryl was such a dear friend with a quick smile, quick laugh and always standards of excellence.

Excellence in every area of life – from making sure that the light bulb in a guest’s room worked (before the guest arrived) to her walk with God.

I look forward to laughing with her again one day.

  4. Beryl was one of the best friends I have ever had in my life!  From the day I met her on the field trip of ’74, I was drawn to her strong and loving personality.  She was so gifted!  I thank the Lord, too, for all the practical things she taught me in the kitchen.   She was a great cook!  I still miss her dearly, these 21 years later.  I look forward to reuniting with her one day at  Jesus’ feet!
