December 2011: JOY.

Donna & I & bring Christmas Greetings from Polynesian Islands we have had the privilege of ministering in . . .

Mele Kalikimaka (Hawaiian)
Meri Kirihimete (Maori, NZ)
Ia manuia le Kerisimasi (Samoan)
Kilisimasi Fiefia (Tongan)
Kia orana e kia manuia rava i teia Kiritime (Cooks Islander)

Hope you don’t mind, but we’re really going ‘down home and personal’ with our December eTouch_logo.jpg. . .

As we near the end of 2011, let’s all head into 2012 with righteousness, joy and peace – for we realize that King Jesus is taking His place in His Kingdom. What amazing days we live in as God’s people! May He direct our steps for, “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines His steps.” (Proverbs 16:9)

He is placing people into position, for what He wants to do in the world and He is repositioning many. As the angels said to the shepherds, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great JOY.” Jesus will soon be returning as the King of Kings. Remember to keep your eyes on Jesus–the Author & Perfecter of our faith, Who for the JOY set before Him, endured the cross (Heb 12:2). We all go through difficult times, but in the end we’ll have such JOY knowing that our trust and faith is in God.

We have just completed our 6th All Nations-All Generations Discipleship Training School in the last four years, covering three nations. This last one was in Singapore and teams are now in six countries in Asia on their missions outreach. We think this will be our last DTS to lead, and we know for this coming year that Donna will be teaching more on ‘Listening to God’ in DTSes, churches and retreats; while Peter will focus more on the YWAM Associates ministry and on writing more books.

Much of our family has, or is being repositioned during this season of our lives. Two grandchildren have done their DTS (what a joy and blessing it has been to have a grandson in our Singapore DTS!)

Laurie and Pete continue to minister with us in Medicine Hat and raise our little Ruthie who brings us all such JOY.

We are thankful God has given us family and friends all over the world—our greatest treasure. We need each other.

We pray you have a wonderful Christmas season and hear our Father’s plans for you for this coming year. May you sense his peace and joy as you walk with Him in righteousness and humility (which our last DTS speaker said, is ”dependence upon Him”).

There is JOY for those who promote peace (Prov 12:20) . . . There is JOY in His presence . . . and the JOY of the Lord will be your strength.

Love & Blessings,

P.S Here we are with our 9 grandchildren – we had an amazing vacation with them (and with their parents!) this past summer.

And Finally . . .

Jesus was Unique in His Birth—He was the only Baby,

  • Whose conception was not the beginning of His existence— just His appearing on stage
  • Who was conceived without a human father
  • Was born without any stain of sin
  • Was born in order that He might die—you might say that His cradle and His cross were carved from the same tree

Oswald Sanders of New Zealand (teaching in Kona, late 70s)

All of us wish you a blessed celebration of Jesus’ birth
