Richard passed away in April 2026 after a short battle with lung cancer.
He is survived by his wife, Pera, and 5 children and grandchildren.

In the early 1980’s Richard, a Rwandan, served with YWAM Kenya and YWAM Uganda, together with Nick DeKoning. He helped start YWAM Hopeland, Uganda, and served in leadership there as well as with YWAM Rwanda.

He was involved in School of Worship, Call2Worship, and the Leadership Development Course among other YWAM courses.

He left YWAM to become a well-loved pastor and teacher in a large church in Kigali (Christian Life Assembly) and also planted a church in eastern Rwanda, which is still thriving.

Worship and pastoring were his key gifts and he discipled many in his 70 years.
